Ingredients:
For the Crust:
- 1 cup Loretta All-Purpose Baking Mix
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
For the Cake Layer:
- 1 box Loretta Devil’s Food Cake Mix
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
For the Brown Sugar Pecan Glaze:
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/3 cup chopped pecans
Instructions:
- Preheat Oven
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour one 8” round cake pan. - Make the Crust
In a small bowl, mix Loretta Baking Mix, melted butter, and chopped pecans until crumbly. Press evenly into the bottom of the cake pan. - Prepare the Cake Layer
In a large bowl, combine Loretta Devil’s Food Cake Mix with eggs, water, and oil. Blend on low for 1 minute, then beat on high for 3 minutes until smooth. Pour over the crust. - Bake
Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool completely in the pan. - Make the Brown Sugar Pecan Glaze
In a saucepan, heat brown sugar, butter, and milk over medium heat until melted and smooth. Remove from heat and whisk in powdered sugar. Stir in chopped pecans.
Glaze and Serve
Drizzle glaze over the cooled cake. Let it set before slicing. Serve as-is or with whipped cream or ice cream.
